First Due Tackle Pass It On – Firefighter, Rescue & Extrication Training

The Westminster (SC) Fire Department will be hosting the third annual Rippin' Rescue class on March 29, 2014. This will be a one day class with all hands-on training.

Think about how you would go about rescue if people were in these cars. Extrication, trench rescue, USAR, ladders, ropes, high-lines, etc. Also below is a previous post about a sinkhole rescue in Toledo, OH. Be sure to check it out.

Training is not busy work. I hope this mentality is not true and trust we will not let it be the norm for our craft. If this is truly the unions stance; it is hogwash, B.S. and an injustice to the service.

Part of the motivation for the PD guys is when firefighters take off running first while carrying a box of donuts and on the flip side the PD guys put recliners at the finish line for us firefighters. All kidding aside; I hope you find some motivation in the new logo.

The Milan Township Fire Department responded to an 11 vehicle pile-up on the Ohio Turnpike (westbound around the 116 mile marker, near the Sandusky/Norwarlk exit).

Pretty good interview with a Fire Chief after the extrication of two occupants in a pickup. The truck hit a tree and had heavy frontal damage and pinned one of the passengers when the floor pan rolled up.
