It’s been a busy week at BGSU State Fire School. There are a lot of pictures on the FDT Facebook page to check out. Over the coming days and weeks I’ll add some different posts with some techniques to think about, review, and try. First, up is a simple way to remove pickets. I’m sure this isn’t a new method, but was the first time I saw it. The brothers in the class from the Parma (OH) Fire Department showed us an easy way to remove them. We joked that it’s now called the “Parma Picket Remover” (PPR) instead of a pipe wrench. Simply grab onto the picket with the pipe wrench – spin the wrench and pull up.
Pass it on!
