Below is a video of a NW Ohio USAR training a few years back that I just found on my computer and loaded to youtube. We were in an old mill facility (type I construction). It was a great training ground prior to demolition.
In the video you will see the jackhammer tip being held up by a rope with a prusik hitch. The prusik makes it easy to adjust where you want the working end of the jackhammer to be. This can also be accomplished with a tool being held by two personnel.
